As most of you know I am a lifelong resident of Waterloo Region – I was born and raised here, went to university here, established my law practice here 25 years ago and raised a family here. I love the Region and am passionate about the people and politics that drive life here.
I was privileged enough to be elected Mayor of North Dumfries and to sit on Regional Council and am immensely honoured to have meet and become friends with so many people here over the years. I became passionate about the local history and the people that have contributed to making the Region the wonderful and successful place it is. The stories I heard around the table, in the coffee meetings, and from my mentors inspired me to create a podcast that featuring the people who impress me most with their drive and commitment to leave this a better place for our children. It’s called Old Grey Mayors.
So far, the interviews - chats really, are primarily with former mayors, but there are others included as well. There is lots of fun and laughter as well as the discussion of serious issues in each segment. They run around 25- 45 minutes and make for great listening.
Guests to date include Ken Seiling, Doug Craig, Jane Mitchell, Richard Christy, Todd Cowan, Joe Mancini, Brenda Halloran, Carl Zerh and Ross Kelterborn. Check in regularly for new podcasts and share them with your friends.
You can listen online here or find the podcast where you listen to all the ones.
